Welcome to the Horizon School Management Committee. The Management Committee has a similar function to a school governing body but is specific to Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). This is the Instrument of Governance (IoG) for Horizon School.

Our Management Committee is comprised of the following:

Our role is strategic, offering challenge and support to the school’s leadership team by:

Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction;
Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance of staff; and
Overseeing the financial performance of the school, making sure its money is well spent (Governance Handbook DfE October 2020)

We also ensure that we listen to, and consider the pupil, parent/carer, and community voices.

Our Management Committee was reformed in February 2021 with the merger of the North Lowestoft Pupil Referral Units (PRU) with the Attic PRU, working as the North Suffolk Pupil Referral Units. In September 2021 the Management Committee became the Horizon School Management Committee with our new Instrument of Governance as outlined above.
