School Engagement Practitioners (SEPs) at Horizon School provide practical and emotional support to students and families facing difficulties with school attendance and engagement. They work to empower students by reducing barriers and promoting positive choices in education. As designated safeguarding leads, they are responsible for individual student welfare. They collaborate with families, professionals, and other schools to ensure consistent and coordinated support from induction through to the end of a student’s placement, including liaising with external agencies and attending multi agency and safeguarding meetings.

They support students to transition back to their dual registered school with an oversight of a bespoke transition plan.
